Summer Reading Program 2018 GENERAL INFORMATION

Libraries Rock

Libraries Rock               June 11 - June 27th`Note Date Change:  Due to the extension of the school year due to snow days, the library will only hold Summer Reading Program the last three weeks of June.  The June 6th program featuring the Grout Museum has been cancelled.  There will also be no 'guessing games' or other contests the week of June 4th.  The library will begin all programming on Monday, June 11th.  Stop by the library prior to that date to pick up your Summer Reading books and materials!

April 11th   Open House  1:30 - 4:00  Registration begins April 11th and continues throughout the program.

Each child will sign a contract designating the number of books they will read each week to win their weekly prize. The library will not be rewarding minutes of reading, but instead, number of books, so consider what is realistic for each child. More information will be available at registration or contact the library, 989-2608.

Visit the library frequently and help decorate our library with our "Rock and Roll" and "Music" themes.  Beginning April 11th, the library will supply each reader with ever changing coloring pages which we will decorate the wall, ceiling and bulletin boards.

Each week in June, the library will post a new "Guess the Song" game. We will give you clues and you guess the song!  Rock and Roll!  One girl and boy will win per week!  Good Luck!

Each week  library will put out jars of different items and readers can "guess" the number in the container.  The one closest to the number without going over, wins the container and its contents.  If there are multiple winning guesses, the winning guess tickets be pooled and a winner drawn.

Stop by the library to see the collection of book series! Find old favorites and discover new ones as you begin your summer reading.

Everyone who completes the program by finishing their contract will earn a "An Excellent Reader Lives Here" yard sign to display in their yard. They will also receive a reward at the final program on June 28th.  (Note: due to cost, only one sign per family)

The library welcomes children of all abilities.
